Social Media At It’s Finest

Our friends at Wpromote.com have created a pretty cool Social Media infographic to illustrate the power that social media can have over social responsibility.

Companies like Toms Shoes, Pepsi and One Hope are featured on the graphic describing how they have turned their presence in social media and used it to create and promote programs that benefit a variety of charities. For instance Toms Shoes has donated over 1 million pairs of shoes to children in over 23 counties with their business model of having every pair purchased matched and sent to a child in need. First of all its great marketing which I’m sure plays a major success in the companies rapid growth. At the same time that’s a very genrous donation to make and not every company can do that and still grow and expand like Tom’s has. Another great aspect to the donation plan is people can actually interact and feel good that when they are purchasing a pair of shoes (a sometimes selfish act) they are actually helping a child who may not have nice shoes or any shoes for that matter. Its a great thing and I know that I have around 4 pairs of Toms so to think that I helped play a roll in helping the cause is a great feeling.
